Ortho-K: Clear Vision Without Daytime Lenses

 

What is Ortho-K?
 Ortho-K (short for orthokeratology) is a special type of contact lens you wear overnight. While you sleep, the lenses gently reshapes the surface of your eye (the cornea). In the morning, you remove them and can enjoy clear vision all day without glasses or contact lenses.

Who is it for?
 Ortho-K is ideal if you:

  • Are short-sighted (myopic) up to -5.50DS or have mild astigmatism 
  • Want freedom from glasses or contact lenses during the day
  • Play sports or have an active lifestyle
  • Prefer a non-surgical alternative to laser eye correction
     It’s also proven to slow down the progression of myopia in children.

How does it work?
The lenses gently reshape your cornea overnight to correct your vision temporarily. The effect lasts as long as you continue wearing the lenses each night. It is reversible if you stop wearing them, your eyes will gradually return to their normal shape.

What’s the process?

  1. Initial Consultation – We start with a full topography corneal scan to check if Ortho-K is suitable for you.
  2. Lens Fitting – Once we’ve confirmed suitability, we’ll order your custom lenses designed specifically for your eyes and teach you how to insert and remove them.
  3. First Review (after 24 hours) – We’ll check how your eyes are adapting and make sure the lenses fit comfortably.
  4. Follow-Up (after 1 week) – We’ll review your vision and ensure everything is progressing as expected.
  5. Ongoing Care (every 6 months) – We’’ll continue to monitor you to ensure your eyes are healthy with topography scans and replace your lenses every 6 months
